Lying within 45-minute drive from Pokhara city at a distance of just 6 kilometres, the sight of sunrise from Sarangkot is the moment of supreme beauty leading you inwards into the mystery of creation. Its popularity is testified by the throngs of national and international tourists, making it quite early to the hilltop. A perennial attraction for everybody who visit Pokhara, missing Sarangkot sunrise scenery is to miss a tremendous experience of your life.
Perhaps because people get carried away by the grandeur of the sunrise scenery, they forget to talk about so much else Sarangkot offers. An immense expanse of the beautiful land including all of Pokhara, its lakeside, the entire Fewa Lake and a panorama of verdant mountains fill up the canvass in front of your eyes, with a long stretch of the central Himalaya at the horizon. The massive peaks like Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Ganesh, Manaslu and Annapurna are seen towering towards the sky.
5:00 AM: Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Pokhara.
5:20 AM: Leave the hotel in a private vehicle (typically, a car for up to 3 participants, or a van for bigger groups). Do not forget your camera!
6:15 AM: Once the vehicle is parked safely, climb the final few hundred metres to get to the tower on top of the Sarangkot hill. Assuming the weather is clear enough, enjoy a natural vista -- painted generously by Mother Nature herself, for as long as you want.
If you are seriously into photography, find yourself and your equipment a perfect spot well well ahead of the sunrise. The guide will order a hot cup of tea for everyone.
7:30 AM: We will take you back to your hotel where you can have your breakfast and carry on with the rest of your plans. Of course, you can count on the guide for any further information you may need.
