You can see an increased flow of customers in the local markets and department stores as the people remain busy buying different articles for their Tihar celebrations. You may think that they are being unnecessarily extravagant, but there are several interesting traditions behind their spending.
If you simply want to have some entertainment, do not stay indoors and instead, take a walk in the evening, especially on Laxmi Pooja (the third day) along Lakeside with your partner. Take the camera along or you will regret later for there will be lots of singing, dancing and partying.
