Lakeside or any other convenient point in Pokhara

The short climb up the hill slope covered with pine trees takes you to the top where this white coloured pagoda glistens. An eye-picking cultural icon amidst the bountiful spectacles of nature, this hilltop commands unbeatable views of Fewa Lake, Pokhara City, and a large section of the Annapurna mountain range with its peaks piercing the sky.

But, beware! Your senses should not be overwhelmed by the mesmerising views all around. The pagoda itself needs your thought and attention. Built by a Japenese monk Nipponzan Fujii, who was greatly saddened to see the destruction of the world in the Second World War, you had better carry its appeal for peace all over the world.

Devoted to the noble cause of peace as it is, Fujii reportedly meant it to be homage to Mahatma Gandhi as well, a supreme lover of peace. So there it is today, standing majestically, and calling upon everyone to shine with the radiance of compassion just like its white colour shines.

No surprises here. These tours/activities are those most anyone can do if they are fine with fairly flat walks and getting in and out of transport.

Like to be active, even very active, but not pushed too far. This is the one for you.

These tours/activities require you to be very fit. Probably not suitable for children.
