Vardan Resort n' Apartment started its operation on September 20, 2008. It may not be very large in terms of number of rooms, but it certainly is one of the best managed in its category. It has been built in a very peaceful, pollution free and village like neighborhood just about 250 meters away from Fewa Lake. The magnificent panorama visible from the resort seems to be sublimely blended with the natural ambience of Pokhara Valley.

It has three earthquake resistant cottages each with a private terrace and two bedrooms, and a modern building with two luxurious apartments and an exotic honeymoon suite. In addition to the regular services, you can get almost all sorts of professional and recreational services on request.

Madan Sharma, the chairperson and the friendly host at Vardan Resort n' Apartment is not a new name in the tourism industry of Nepal. Having spent 26 years and pursued different careers in tourism and hospitality, Mr. Sharma finally decided to start a resort that would not only amaze travelers with its outlooks and decor, but also with the quality and trustworthiness of the services rendered.

While he and his family are managing this property with the help of a number of well-trained staff, he spends almost 60% of his time in social service and community based activities.

Caring for Destination

This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.

Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:

Social - Livelihood and education of underprivileged children

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:

Since 2002, Madan has been supporting an NGO committed to relocation of socially displaced and underprivileged children. At present, seven of such children are being educated and taken care of at Thankot, Kathmandu. To help this operation, some of his friends in Germany are sending whatever funds they can collect on a regular basis.

Madan donates 10% of the total bill amount paid by his guests. That means, your stay also ensures some support to the children, while any additional contribution will definitely help them further. He will be more than pleased to give you all the details about the NGO and its projects. Besides, he can also show you some real volunteering opportunities in Pokhara, just in case you are interested.
