The festival of Teej is celebrated by married women for the well-being of their husbands while unmarried ones in anticipation of the perfect future husbands. An interesting aspect of this festival is that these women prepare special dishes (collectively called 'Dar') and dine lavishly the night before Teej while they remain on a whole day fasting the next day (i.e. Teej).
The best part for those who do not participate is that they can at least enjoy the 'Dar' delicacies since there is no restriction as to who can or cannot taste those dishes. The secret is, you need to be acquainted with a Nepalese family!
